Notes

Absence – For future reference if you do have to miss a Monday meeting be sure Email both Kat and Mike but also contact the Group so we can make arrangements, Attendance is Mandatory on a Monday also so your Mark could be affected.

DMU Replay – If you did by chance miss the Lecture today, I’d really suggest watching the DMU replay to get an Idea of the marking structure for this project and what will be expected throughout.

The Facebook – Will complement the Blog, this is simply a means for us to quickly communicate to one another, for anything feedback based and requiring Crit upload to the Blog and then inform others of your post (As we are marked on communication from Blog posts).

Themes – So far the general idea has been Circus/Faire Ground, this idea will be expanded upon in future meetings, so everyone can voice their opinions who weren’t able to attend today’s meeting.

Week Two (Presentation) – We’ll be presenting our Idea next Monday 13th March to the tutors on where we think we are going with the project, we’ll need to have decided on an Art Style, Theme, Game Play, Colour Palette and so on, anything that give us a solid foundation and a translates a rough concept.

Group Name – There’s currently a Poll on the Facebook page for the Group name, please feel free to add any Names you like, We’ll try choosing one for next week. Personal Favourite is “You won’t believe what this group did for Off the Map! What happens next will shock you!” Has the perfect amount of clickbaitiness to it?

Art Styles – So far Art styles that have been suggested are Bioshock Infinite, Fable Legends, Assassin Creed, Dishonoured, We Happy Few, Darksiders, Diablo, more can be added to this list after future meetings.

Roles – If you’ve watched through the Presentation of the Brief you’ll see we were given roles for the Project, we can decide exactly who’s doing what later in this week but the current ones are for those who Volunteered at today’s meetings, but a still up deliberation.

Task Lists – After each Monday Meeting we’ll have a breakdown like this, which will have set tasks for the following week, hopefully this will give us a good idea as to what will be finished and when and can also be edited as we go along.

Trips - Looking at any places we could possibly go as a group to help get some primary research for the Visual Studies side of the project.

Roles (Provisional) -

Art Director - Lewis

Producer - Will

Game Play Director - Dan

Brand Director - Josh

(To be confirmed in a future meeting, discussed with Absentees)

Task List

Individuals

Josh

· Make the Group Blog on either Blogspot or Wix, we will all need contribute to the Blog over the course of the project.

Will

· Create a Task List for Week One of the project.

Everyone

Due for Thursday 9th March

· Create 3x Pinterest Boards - Looking at Themes, Colours, Characters, Art Styles and so on.

· Create 2x Annotated Mood Boards - Going more in-depth on Themes and Style. (Remember these will be going towards your Visual Studies marks).

· Any Screens shots from Films or Games are also recommended, looking at compositions and colour pallets.

· Any notes you may have or ideas.

· Thumbnails Sketches of Environments, Props, Characters and Layouts.

Try to do this for two Themes because we will be presenting our current ideas next Monday during a presentation to both Kat and Mike, this just allows more range, variety and exploration.

Meetings for Week One

Current Plan is for a Group Meeting on Thursday after Critical Studies, the idea being we go to the earliest Emma Session and then afterwards run through everything for the Next weeks meetings.

If Everyone can bring with them their work from the Task Lists that’ll really help us narrow down a style and theme for the project

Thursday 9th March - 12 - 1pm
